![]() It isn't easy, and change is scary for many - but in the 6 years I have been here, people have been treated with nothing but respect and it feels good to be a part of something big.In response to the complaint #*** submitted on August 28, 2015, we have researched the issue and our comments are as followsIn July, 2015, the member confirmed our authorization to pay overdrafts on ATM and debit card There are also natural growing pains of coming in and transforming a very old school, small CU culture. As an employee of Signal, I feel that I have a very fair work/life balance, and our CEO and HR VP care about that a lot. Small CU's have their challenges, but Signal is determined to meet them. But isn't that a good thing? Who wants to be a part of a culture that isn't trying to get it right 100% of the time? Isn't that the point? If you are someone who has difficulty completing their work accurately and efficiently and aren't motivated, that is going to be addressed. ![]() Signal wants people who want to help transform the Credit Union to better meet the needs of their members and community. It probably isn't the best place to work if you're punching a clock and mailing it in. There is growth opportunity for those who want to grow. I started in the branches here, and now run another department. Signal Financial is a great place to work. In the end my manager gave me a good enough reference that I was able to find a new job in a different field (with similarities where I could use my experience), which turned into a good working experience for me for the next five years. The other things that I learned (besides being a teller) were what made me excel at the other credit unions (and banks) that I worked for. My manager was so “put off” because I lacked the speed of other tellers that I was never allowed to learn anything else. However, I was accurate and liked to learn new things (even had a college degree). I will admit that I was detail oriented and a little on the slow side when I did only teller transactions. I even served as Head Teller and an Assistant Branch Manager for a time. I came to Signal FCU after 13 years of financial institution experience (including at least 6 years of opening accounts and processing loans). I did learn how to do service center transactions which was new for me. I was a teller for three years and was disappointed that I was never given the opportunity to learn more. Like every workplace there will be challenges but it is nice to know there are so many people helping you along the way! Overall, this is a great place to work for and you will make friends that will last a lifetime. Additionally, I feel I have the 2 best employees and the 2 best Senior Leaders in the entire organization! The leadership and team here at Signal has made that possible. My passion has always been to make life easier for people and take away complexities, so that life can be more enjoyable. I was a bit excited and also scared of the drastic changed but I had, and still have, the support of everyone up to and including our CEO!įast forward to today and I am still sharing ideas and looking for ways to make things better for our members and the team here at Signal. ![]() The opportunity came for me to manage a totally different department. The more I shared and helped to implement ideas and processes, the more confident I became. At first, I was hesitant but my manager encouraged me more and more. The promotion came because I was encouraged to share my ideas more (not true at the old place). I made a lateral move from the old credit union to Signal, however, I was able to be promoted soon thereafter here at Signal. Coming to Signal, I was able to walk into a vastly different atmosphere where I have been able to thrive. The other credit union was similar in size and staffing, however the culture at the other place was toxic. I came to Signal a few years ago after working for another credit union. ![]()
